Honestly, where to start with these two. A true adventure elopement! First off, I'm so thankful for the opportunity. When Hannah reached out about their elopement, she asked "so...how fast do you hike?" Instant intimidation bomb. But there was no way I was going to let this opportunity slip out of my hands. I had never seen the San Juans before - and this was the perfect excuse!
Our wakeup call was 12:30am. Hannah got her hair and makeup done in our hotel while I packed my camera gear, warm weather gear and plenty of snacks into my day pack. In hindsight, I'd bring a bigger daypack next round! We headed out the door and made our way to the trailhead. Honestly, the hike went so quickly, and I think that was because we ascended 1600 ft of elevation gain in the dark. But once dawn hit, the scenery really showed off. Hannah and Anthony got dressed on the mountain for a gorgeous blue hour first look. Anthony's reaction was priceless! We followed that up with reading their vows on a perfect elopement rock overlooking the lake with their dog, Lucy. Peep the booties. So cute! Then, the rest of the time was ours to explore! We stayed above the lake until the sun rose enough to illuminate the water, then Hannah and Anthony threw their packs on to hike to the shore. They planned an adorable first dance (EDM is their thing), cut their tiny, tiny cake and spent some quality time with Lucy. As we were hiking down, we noticed some gorgeous aspen groves that we couldn't see on the way up in the dark, so we stopped for some fall photos. :)
