Tucked into the rugged beauty of the Rocky Mountains, Black Canyon Inn in Estes Park, Colorado is one of the most breathtaking wedding venues in the state. With panoramic views of “The Boulders” aka Lumpy Ridge, rustic yet modern architecture, and a peaceful, tucked-away feel, this iconic property offers couples a chance to say “I do” in a setting that feels both intimate and epic — and a true experience for their guests.
One of the things that makes Black Canyon Inn especially unique is the convenience of having everything in one place. With spacious, cozy cabins and condos right on the property, couples and their families can settle in for the week, relax, and soak up the full wedding experience without ever having to leave the mountains.
As a Colorado wedding photographer, I never get tired of documenting love stories at Black Canyon Inn. Every corner of the property feels like a postcard — from the soft morning light that hits the cabins, to the golden hour glow across the ceremony site overlooking The Boulders. It’s the kind of venue that does half the storytelling for you. Whether it’s a quiet moment tucked into the pine trees or a sweeping mountain portrait, there’s beauty in every direction.
Paige spent the quiet, slow morning surrounded by her favorite people in the bridal suite. With french doors that open to a private patio with views of the pine-covered hills and Lumpy Ridge in the distance, the space was filled with soft natural light and cool, early May air.
There was such a calm, joyful energy in the room. Paige’s mom helped her into her dress while music played in the background. It was one of those rare wedding mornings where everything felt relaxed, unrushed, and deeply present.
The bridal suite at The Boulders offers plenty of room to get ready comfortably, with thoughtful details and cozy touches that make it feel more like a retreat than just a prep space. Whether it was capturing the final touches of makeup, the emotional moments with her best girls, or those champagne-toasting, pajama-wearing group shots, every frame felt full of anticipation and love.
Just two floors below, Cody got ready in the groom’s suite, surrounded by his closest friends. The vibe was relaxed and full of laughs — exactly the kind of energy you hope for on your wedding day. The guys toasted with a beer, helped each other with bow ties and collars, and took a few moments to soak in the calm before the ceremony.
Paige and Cody shared their first look on the lower deck— a truly heartfelt moment. As Paige walked up behind him, beaming with excitement, you could feel the anticipation building. The second Cody turned around and saw her, the emotion hit him hard. His eyes filled with tears, and it was as if the whole world got quiet for just a moment.
Paige couldn’t stop smiling — her joy was completely contagious. They wrapped each other in the kind of hug that says this is it. It was a beautiful mix of nerves, joy, and deep love — made even more meaningful by the stillness of the mountains around them.
Black Canyon Inn offers so many spots on property for moments like this. The mountain views, the natural light, the quiet — it all adds to the feeling that this moment is truly yours.
After their first look, Paige and Cody exchanged their vows in private — with the mountains as their witness. It was intimate, emotional, and deeply personal. These are the kinds of moments that often mean the most — unscripted, unhurried, and full of intention. I always encourage couples to carve out space like this in their timeline.
Paige and Cody’s ceremony took place inside The Boulders at Black Canyon Inn, a modern mountain-inspired indoor venue known for its floor-to-ceiling windows that open onto a deck overlooking the iconic mountain range. The natural light flooded the space, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere filled with the beauty of Estes Park right outside.
As they exchanged vows, the breathtaking panoramic mountain views served as the perfect backdrop — a constant reminder of the wild, majestic setting surrounding their love story. Guests soaked in the serene mountain air as the windows were opened to let in a spring breeze, blending the indoors and outdoors seamlessly.
After the ceremony, guests moved effortlessly to the lower deck at The Boulders, where the fresh mountain air and sweeping vistas set the scene for a relaxed and joyful cocktail hour. Surrounded by towering pines and the rugged beauty of Estes Park, everyone enjoyed mingling, laughter, hors d’oeuvres, and delicious drinks while soaking up the golden light of the late afternoon.
The reception kicked off with an energetic entrance from Paige, Cody, and their wedding party, filling The Boulders with cheers and excitement. The warm glow of the mountain sunset poured through the floor-to-ceiling windows, setting the perfect mood for the evening ahead.
Before dinner, Paige’s nieces led a heartfelt common table prayer, bringing a sweet, personal touch to the gathering. Guests then enjoyed a delicious meal while sharing stories, laughter, and soaking in the cozy yet elegant mountain atmosphere.
After dinner, Paige and Cody slipped away for sunset portraits on the Black Canyon Inn grounds. The golden light bathed the mountains and their joyful faces, creating some of the most stunning images of the day.
Back inside, the speeches were full of emotion and humor, setting the tone for the traditional dances that followed — from Paige and Cody’s first dance to the classic parent dances. When the live band hit the stage and the open dance floor opened up, the crowd went wild.
The real highlight? Bubble guns! As the music pulsed and bubbles floated through the air, everyone danced like no one was watching, making for an unforgettable, joyous celebration deep in the heart of Estes Park.
After the dance floor wound down, Paige and Cody kept the celebration going by inviting their closest friends and family to a local Estes Park bar for an after-party filled with good vibes and a little friendly competition over pool. It was the perfect way to end an incredible day.
From mountain views to a late-night game of pool, Paige and Cody’s wedding at Black Canyon Inn was truly a wedding day to remember.
