Eloping at an Airbnb like The Deck at Quandary Peak is one of the most epic and intimate ways you can get married in Colorado. This stunning, black A-frame cabin offers a moody, modern vibe and is tucked right at the base of the iconic Quandary Peak, one of Colorado’s most famous 14ers. Perfect for a mountain view elopement, The Deck is a secluded, romantic Airbnb cabin ideal for couples looking to elope in nature. Located just 25 minutes from Breckenridge and Fairplay, it’s the ultimate private elopement venue for adventurous couples. With only one bedroom, it encourages a true, no-guest, just-the-two-of-you kind of celebration. Whether you’re dreaming of a cozy elopement or an intimate wedding getaway, The Deck at Quandary Peak is your dream Breckenridge elopement location.
Brisyn and Thomas started their Colorado elopement day slow and intentional, savoring the quiet moments together at their A-frame Airbnb cabin tucked in the mountains. Their morning was filled with thoughtful touches. They assembled tropical-inspired DIY wedding florals for their intimate ceremony, put together a colorful charcuterie board for their afternoon adventure, and prepped their elopement cake and wine to celebrate afterward. Since they traveled from Florida to elope in Breckenridge, they wanted their florals to reflect both home and Colorado. They opted for soft mountain tones paired with green tropical leaves.

When I arrived to document the elopement details—rings, vow books, and their wedding attire—Thomas began getting ready. We had limited space inside the cabin, so he stepped outside while I helped Brisyn into her dress. With mountain views right off the deck, it was the perfect place to wait. Once I zipped Brisyn’s dress, we met Thomas for a quiet and emotional first look. They were surrounded by mountain air and pine trees—a peaceful moment before they officially began their elopement adventure.

With Quandary Peak standing tall in the distance, Brisyn and Thomas exchanged vows in a quiet, peaceful moment in the mountains. The breeze had stilled, and even the birds and squirrels seemed to pause for their intimate ceremony. Surrounded by alpine air and sweeping views, they shared their promises, exchanged rings, and sealed it all with a kiss. Afterward, they made it official by signing their Colorado marriage license on top of the deck’s fireplace. As the sun began to dip lower in the sky, they toasted with wine and shared a slice of cheesecake, soaking in the stillness and the beginning of their new chapter together.

Since Brisyn and Thomas chose to spend six hours of their elopement day together with me, we had plenty of time to explore the surrounding mountain landscapes. They really wanted to include an alpine lake adventure as part of their elopement day, so we packed up their picnic supplies and jumped into the Jeep. Just a short drive from their Airbnb near Quandary Peak, we found a peaceful reservoir tucked into the forest—perfect for an afternoon by the water.

We wandered along the shoreline, taking some beautiful lakeside portraits with the water glistening behind them and soft mountain light wrapping around their silhouettes. The stillness of the lake made it feel like we had the whole place to ourselves.
Pro tip: if you want your elopement to feel secluded, get married in the shoulder seasons on a weekday. This includes mid-October to late November or early April to mid-May. Brisyn + Thomas’s elopement took place October 8.

They laid out a blanket and shared a quiet moment together, sipping on their favorite beer and snacking on a thoughtfully packed charcuterie board. It was a perfect mid-day refuel and a great time to soak it all in before heading up into the mountains for sunset.

As the afternoon faded, we made our way up a nearby Colorado mountain pass to catch the last light of the day. The road twisted through the aspen trees and pine trees until we came to a meadow where the views opened up to sweeping ridgelines and endless sky.

We timed it perfectly—alpenglow lit up the peaks in warm pinks and oranges, and the breeze swept through the pass in that wild, open way that only high elevations can bring. We spent these final moments taking portraits. The sun dipped low, wrapping Brisyn and Thomas in soft, dramatic light.

Before heading back down, Brisyn changed into her dinner jumpsuit and threw on her custom Mrs. denim jacket, ready to end the evening in total style. It was a simple, quiet end to a day filled with intention, adventure, and love.

Brisyn and Thomas’ elopement day was everything an intentional wedding in the mountains can be—slow, meaningful, and full of small, personal moments that made it entirely their own. From crafting their florals in the quiet morning hours to chasing sunset on a windy mountain pass, Brisyn + Thomas centered every part of the day around connection, adventure, and love. Whether you’re planning a similar Colorado elopement, or just dreaming about escaping to the mountains to say your vows, let this be a reminder: your wedding day can look and feel however you want it to. I’ve found the most unforgettable moments are in the stillness, the wind, and the wide open skies.
